Comment of the Fortnight 17 May 1999

I was in Las Vegas from 4-7 May with my mother and brother. The trip report is in the digital photography section of this website.

The trip report concentrates mainly on things that I was able to photograph, so let me just add a few things here:

The visit to Ocean Spray's “Cranberry World West” was a lot of fun.
I enjoyed seeing the factory where they make Ethel M Chocolates, but didn't buy anything (amazing as that may sound to people who know me).
We saw Lance Burton's magic show; it's quite wonderful.
CBS was screening pilots for future TV shows and gauging audience reaction. The three of us, by luck of the draw, got to see an astonishingly awful sitcom. My brother said, “It was a small sacrifice if it saves millions of people from having to watch this garbage.”. Some people get to see the real hits before they reach the screen; some people don't.
