chmod
The best way to see what chmod
does is to go to a
Linux system and start using it. If you don’t have a Linux system close
at hand, or don’t feel confident working with real files,
the form below will let you test the chmod
command.
Note: the form will only accept the "*" at the end of a filename as a wildcard. The Reset button will set the file permissions as they were when you first entered the page. The Help button will pop up a quick reference.
