Very, Very Briefly Noted
Iraq
Saddam Hussein lost.
He signed an agreement to end the war.
He hasn't lived up to his agreement.
As far as I'm concerned, that means the U.N. calls the shots.
The McCaughey Septuplets
I'm glad the babies are doing well.
I'm glad the mother is doing well.
It beats me entirely to see why "McCaughey" should be pronounced as "McCoy."
What a logistical nightmare.
What a financial nightmare.
And, speaking of financial nightmares:
The Asian Economies
South Korea needs a multi-billion dollar bailout.
Their currency is headed downwards
One of Japan's biggest brokerage firms is on the brink of closing.
Japan's banks could easily get the cash by liquidating their holdings in U.S. Treasury bonds.
That's not a very pleasant thought.
Why does the world economy remind me too much of a house of cards?
