The next page has a simplified version of the game of Blackjack (also known as “21”) implemented in Javascript using Dynamic HTML.

About the Game

I call it simplified Blackjack because:

• It’s a one-player game only (you vs. the dealer).
• You can’t split, double down, or buy insurance.
• It plays with a single deck.
• Aces are always worth 11 for the dealer.
• Dealer “stands” at 17. (He cannot draw another card if his total is 17 or greater)

The Cards

You’ll notice that the game plays with non-standard suits. I didn’t want to violate copyrights scanning a deck or stealing images of an online deck. Instead, I used images from IconBAZAAR and The Design Shoppe to create the suits, and images from Jeffrey Zeldman's wondrous site for the face cards.
