SCVWA 2008 State Duals Team

The Santa Clara Valley Wrestling Association Junior Dual Team was comprised of wrestlers from all over the region that is known as the Santa Clara Valley. The area was well represented with athletes from the Junior division ranging from Los Gatos to Salinas, from Sunnyvale to San Jose. Making the trip to Brentwood for the grueling two-day tournament was an honor for these athletes who were selected to represent the association in the duals-state championships.

Each of the wrestlers did well and turned in performances that added team points. Overall, the team finished 5th in Greco Roman and 7th in Freestyle. Suffering a few disappointing team losses, you can bet the SCVWA will be looking for a little competitive payback next season.

The group of young men in attendance all had a great time and met several quality wrestlers from all over the state. They had a unique occasion to interact and socialize with a variety of wrestlers. It was an outstanding opportunity to cultivate new friendships and rekindle old ones.

We want to thank the coaches and all those who made this trip possible, including the parents and the fans that made the trip to support the wrestlers. We would also like to send out a very special thank you to Laurie Dixon for all her hard work in making this trip and season possible.
