Ordinarily I despise guided tours, but I was dressed like a tourist, so I decided to "play tourist." It was a good choice; the tour guide was excellent, and I enjoyed watching the reactions of the group of schoolchildren that was also on the tour. Me in ridiculous tourist garb

When originally built, one of the steps was surveyed to be exactly one mile above sea level, and was engraved with that fact: One Mile Above Sea Level
