My friend in Casper told me that you could usually see deer and antelope in the hills of the area, but that they had all disappeared now that hunting season had started. “Somehow,” he said, “they know that it‘s hunting season.”

On the morning that I left Casper, though, I saw a few antelope grazing near the Moose Lodge (I swear I am not making this up).

This last picture is not from Colorado or Wyoming, but it came well enough that I have to put it somewhere. I was at a party hosted by A.J. Alfieri-Crispin, and we were all looking through his telescope at the moon. A.J. wondered if the camera could get a good picture. The first two attempts were far too overexposed, so he told me to set the shutter speed as fast as possible. Here's the result at 1/800 of a second. Note: this doesn't have a larger picture.
