Assignment 2

The object of this assignment is to use the text formatting elements in XHTML. Here is the text file which you should copy and paste into your template file, then save as assignment2.html.

 7	All new students and returning former students desiring to enroll
 8	in classes offered by Evergreen Valley College must complete a
 9	formal application for admission. Applications are available at

13	The SSN (Social Security Number) is used by colleges as a common
14	method to identify student records. You are hereby informed that you
15	cannot be required to provide a SSN.  If you do not provide an SSN

19	for all current and future services with the college.

23	Students are restricted each semester to a maximum load of 18 units
24	during a regular semester1, 6 units during a summer session.

29	Last day to drop a class with no "W" on permanent record: 27 September.
30	Last day to drop a class and receive a "W" symbol: 23 November.

35	Continuing students, returning students, and new students who have
36	completed the Assesment and Advisement process may register for
37	classes using any touch tone telephone. When you call 408-223-0300,
38	you must use the month, day, and year of your date of birth as your
39	PIN (Personal Identification Number). Come to Admissions and
40	Records if you have forgotten or wish to change your password.

42	1 Although STAR (Student Telephone Assisted Registration) will allow
43	you to register for more units, your schedule will be adjusted to the
44	18 units during the third week of classes if you have not obtained
45	written approval from a counselor.

Here is the formatting that you should add.

• The <title> of this document should be Evergreen Valley College Information
• Line 1 should be a level one heading.
• The name Epcitetus on line 3 is a citation.
• Lines 5, 21, 26, and 33 are level two headings.
• The word SSN on line 17 is a definition.
• The words PIN on line 39 and STAR on line 42 are also definitions.
• The word must in line 8 is emphasized.
• The word required in line 18 is strongly emphasized text.
• The number 1 after the word semester in line 24 is a footnote reference; it should be superscripted.
• Lines 28, 29, 30, and 31 must each begin on a new line; they must not become one word-wrapped paragraph.
• The sentence starting with Come to Admissions and... on line 39 should be strongly emphasized text.
• Lines 42 through 45 make up a paragraph which should be set in smaller than normal type, and the number 1 at the beginning of line 42 should be superscripted.

This is what the solution should look like. Your lines may not break at exactly the same points as you see in this screenshot, because your screen may have a different resolution and a different window size, and your computer may have different fonts installed on it.
